Can I drink Guinness from a can?

I drank guinness from a glass and liked it alot so i bought a few cans. I'll be going camping so there won't be any glasses available and I'm just wondering if I can drink the guinness from the can? I'm reading about some nitrogen widget and how you're not supposed to drink from the can but is this just for the fine connoisseur who needs to have the right amount of bubbles or is there actually a serious reason that I shouldn't drink from the can?
