Hirsutism and plucking?

I don't know whether or not I have hirsutism, but it has become a very bothersome problem. I have dark course hairs below my belly button, and after researching I decided to turn to delapitories and did a line from the middle of my chest onward. It did produce stubble, despite claims it wouldn't. I am too impatient and cannot stand to wait until the hair is long enough to wax. I read that because plucking brings blood to the folicle that hair will become courser. Is this true? Sources of evidence? I am going to talk to my derm, but again, I'm impatient..
