Should I go to the USAFA?

I am currently a female my late teens and for some reason joining the military is something i always wanted to do. There is something about the Air Force in particular that interests me the most. I love math and science and i definatly enjoy a challenge. Right now im considering going to the Air Force Academy after i graduate from high school, but this is something no one in my family aproves of. They all ask me "why?" and they think that if i join the USAF ill be commiting the biggest mistake of my life. I do not have any "problems" or wish to join simply for money or anything like that. If i honestly could i have the opportunity to go to any other college and i know i have many other career options if i wished. Nothing really caught my attention though. I tried imagining myself pursuing another career and i just cant see it. I dont want to do something 'normal' i want something exciting and risky, and when i learned about the USAFA i have never felt so excited and sure about wanting something. Right now I'm in the JROTC program at my school which is a leadership program based on the military. I love marching and the uniforms. I dont care about the yelling or how tough the basic training will be, but i just want to know from others if anyone has regretted joining the military? You think i should just stick with another career? My siblings constantly try to tell me that the military just try to "Brainwash" people, and that im too bright to fall for something like this. Do you agree? If you have or currently are in the Air Force, what do you think? What about the Air Force Academy? By the way i was thinking that if i join the military, I just want to do something technical. I dont wish to actually get in the war itself. Just thought that can help. Changing weather on HTC Freestyle?

So, I've googled around a lot and I just can't find anything. Probably because this phone is still pretty new! Anyway, weather. The main home screen with the classic analog clock and such has the correct city, but when I swipe over to the full weather widget, it only shows me Atlanta, Dallas, and Seattle. (I did not say it, 'Abdu'l-Baha did) Abortion is clearly recognized in the Cause as the killing of a human being, and the killing of a human being , regardless of their location, is prohibited in the Cause except in cases of self-defense. A Bahai wrote the Guardian of The Faith in 1939 asking whether abortion was permitted and the Guardian responded "The practice of abortion -- which is absolutely criminal as it involves the deliberate destruction of human life -- is forbidden in the Cause" , The Universal House of Justice does not have the authority to abrogate the teachings of Baha'u'llah or to change the interpretations of 'Abdu'l-Baha , but they do have the authority to regulate the question of what constitutes a self-defense killing of an unborn child (ie: abortion for valid medical reasons: the emphasis being on the word "valid" because only reasons of self-defense are "valid" in the holy law.) The right to live, according to all the holy law, comes into existence at conception and continues in 'full force' during every stage of our lives from that point onward. This is a divine reality (godly truth). Given the prohibition against elective abortion clearly stated by the Guardian and the House of Justice, and the clear prohibition against abortion in the holy law which Bahaullah did not abrogate.................can anyone tell me where this idea has come from: that a Bahai can accept elective abortion (ie: be pro-choice) without being at variance with the divine reality? Bahais are required to speak to moral issues and to act in defense of the divine reality , to stand up for the helpless, the unwanted,the uncared for in the world. The question of whether God protects human life from conception is one of those divine realities and the unwanted unborn are among those helpless whom God has commanded us to protect on His behalf. We are to emulate the world of God, not the world of man. Rejection of the divine reality is separation from God and to Bahais, Hell. So, when did Bahais begin advocating against the sanctity of life and the divine reality? Is this true that Bahais can actually advocate for abortion or is this a misunderstanding of some kind? ....and don't tell me killing unborn children is political so Bahais don't talk about it. This is a moral question not a political one and we can't make it go away by calling it 'political'. We talk about war and peace all the time, and they are far more political than abortion! Bahais must seek the divine reality for themselves, true, and if they choose sin (ie: dispute the divine reality), and they can, they have free will to do so, they have separated themselves from God and become Bahais "in name only". This freedom to choose between sin or the divine reality, however, does not mean that the faith promotes choosing sin or is benign to choosing sin (ie: choosing to act or believe at variance with the divine reality). Bahais are supposed to follow the light of the divine reality, not the lamp from which it may shine at any given time. Because the technology of touch screens and fast speeds and full page Internet was so new, people called phones that could do all that stuff 'smart'phones. However, these days any phone over �80 (sorry I'm not sure what that is in canadian dollars but its basically the cost of two games console games) is basically considered a smart phone nowadays. Almost every phone that is on the Market is can do all the stuff that even high end phones were struggling to do two years ago. Looking at your requirements it looked like you could make do with a small feature budget phone. However, when you said you wanted a good camera and wanted to use the maps, every thing changed. Only smartphones come with good cameras now and in order to see maps properly you need a big screen (minimum 3.5 inches - size of iPhone). For that reason it would be a good idea for you to go to your local phone shop and have a play around with what they are selling. But please do not be confused by the term smartphone - just think of them as normal phones. The old phones that have buttons and a tiny screen are truly just budget, pretty much rubbish, cheap as chips phones. Nowadays dual core phones are coming out like the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the HTC Sensation (the successor to the HTC desire hd) and these phones are called 'super'phones. It's first heard in the first chorus and onward. The only way I can describe it is that it reminds me of the sound of someone flipping a coin. Can anyone identify this instrument?

I don't know whether or not I have hirsutism, but it has become a very bothersome problem. I had a bit of problems with Ubuntu 11.04's Compiz restrictions so I decided to go try Kubuntu. After moving the panel and adding Docky, I'm more content than ever. It's not exactly GNOME2.3 but it's the next best thing. Any way, as happy as I am with Kubuntu right now, how do I resize the widgets? For instance, the CPU Monitor, I can only place it in the system tray, and in order to separate it from everything else, I have to add a huge spacer. Thing is, I can easily change the spacer's size, but I can't find out how to change the size of the CPU Monitory. I like having it like I did in GNOME2.3 where I can easily see my CPU usage. Samsung galaxy s2 battery problem?

i have the galaxy s2 and wondering if i have a faulty unit, i remove my phone from 100% charge at 8am and by 8pm the battery is flat, rarely use it for games i have only the basic wallpapers, wifi is turned off as is auto sync, i have the display on the lowest brightness setting with auto time out set to 15 seconds, all widgets are removed from my home page except the weather widget and im not running any apps in the background or multi tasking. i only make a handfull of short phone calls and texts a day,sometimes i will play the odd game for half an hour (i usually dont) it says that display is using 55% of my battery life but i have it set on lowest setting, i love this phone and i want to keep it but im currently having to carry a charger around in my pocket as by 8pm it needs charging, is anyone else having this problem and can give me some advice on power saving, or confirm i have a faulty unit, any help is much appreciated.

Did I just make the worst mistake of my life?

I met this guy - military. I knew him 20 years ago and we reconnected. Problem was that he had only been divorced a month when we started "dating". So I knew he wasn't ready for a relationship and I just let things be casual. In March, he started talking about me going to visit him in the city he is moving to (over 10 hours away) and that we would fly back and forth to see each other. He will be attending a military academy there. Then he told me that he was ready to move on to a relationship and that he was looking to get assigned to an ROTC position in my area. I didn't ask where the relationship was going. He offered the info. He was very sweet, texted me every day (we don't live in the same town). We never fought. Then one day like a light switch, he turned off all emotion, and I mean literally overnight...gone. I finally asked him whether he was being emotionally distant and he said yes, that he was/is. That he was sorry but he was moving across the state for a year and then didn't know where he was going to be after that. He said we could still hang out and talk, but that he needed to spend time with and focus on his children. I sent him a letter a few days later saying I could not do casual. It was a very nice letter, not angry or anything, saying that I couldn't do casual after dating 9 months and why (length of time together, that it went against my core values/beliefs and for health reasons) but that if he ever changed his mind, to let me know and if I was available, we could see where things stood. I also told him I'd have no problem if he contact me as a friend. Then he immediately responded saying that he got my email letter, but was busy and would respond to it later. Then a week went by and I hadn't heard anything. So I saw that he posted something onto FB and got furious...he had time to do that, but not to respond. So I sent him a text that he hadn't responded, that I had been nothing but good to him, which was a mistake, that I couldn't be his friend, that he had used me until the end and then pulled the rug out from under me and that the very least he could do is to let me have the same kindness and respect as I'd shown him. He texted me the next day saying that I needed to learn to be patient (I had dated him casually for 9 months...I'd say that's patient) and that he had told me he was getting too serious too soon and that he thought we were on the same page about being casual cause he didn't know where he was going to be after school. He said he didn't use me as I said. Then said that now I wanted to make it ugly? Then said, no more....response required, that he saw how I wanted this to be...fine I'm deleting your telephone number. I called a day later and left a rather emotional voicemail trying to explain that I had been patient (for 9 months) and that my actions were tied to being hurt. Then texted him a week later saying that I was sorry I had made him mad and for getting so angry and asked if there no room for forgiveness and asked him to please talk to me so that we could have a calm, adult converation. That I didn't want to be on nonspeaking terms. No responses to either messagest. I won't text him again, but I'm so confused. Help!

I have the widget up that clocks my CPU and RAM usage, and when i was playing minecraft not 10 minutes ago, it was clocking the RAM usage at 72%. As I'm writing this it's at 63%, and normal usage seems to be at about 30-50%. Plus, i noticed that when i sniff the air vent of mt laptop, it smells like something is burning. I have a Hp Pavilion DV7. Also, the bottom left corner heats up when the fan goes nuts. Whats going on here?

Ok so I met this guy volunteering. He was in charge of the volunteers. I thought he was cute for awhile however he's 9 years older than me. Forgive me if this is a long description. So i'm a senior this year and i have to apply for college in a few months, i know that i'll have time to switch my majors within the first year or two of college but i want to have a few plans. So far i'm deciding between Aerospace Engineer as a future career or a Police Officer. I'm not sure what the best prerequisites for becoming a police officer are. Is there any major that would help me finding a job for that career? Or does a college major not matter for police officers so long as I were to attend some type of police academy following my college years. I'm not really familiar with the requirements for law enforcement positions other than mandatory basic tests. So if anyone could help me out with these questions that would be great. I doubt if it matters but so far i'm considering going to OU (University of Oklahoma), OSU (Oklahoma State), and an offer from Texas A&M.

Most of the time having you do solo drills has to do with him having no time to train you one on one due to the large number of students in a class setting. You're usually paired off with a classmate later on. If you are taking private lessons on the other hand, you are usually doing two man drills most of the time since the instructor himself would be your partner. As for sparring, those are usually reserved til you are proficient enough to defend yourself and not accidentally hurt someone due to lack of control. This of course, is assuming your instructor is old school and isn't teaching a sports version of the Filipino martial arts, where they used padded sticks and heavy armor for sparring. Because you must understand that even if you are just sparring with eskrima sticks which is safer than doing it with blades, there is still a chance of incurring injury during the heat of sparring, especially since most old school styles usually do not use padded sticks or armour. Other stanzas use slant rhyme or assonance: "greed/perceived" "below/beautiful" "hope/wrote" "indeed/deeds" "seas/deep" "charged/regard" in a way that is distracting, and almost comical in places.
